How do I remove background noise from audio?
Choose an audio file, select a cleanup strength, and click Remove noise. Listen to the original and cleaned versions, then download a 16-bit WAV file. All processing happens in your browser.
Is this noise remover free?
Yes. You can process and download files without an account or payment. Each file can be up to 50 MB and five minutes long. There is no monthly minute allowance.
Which audio formats can I use?
WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC and WebM audio are accepted when your browser can decode them. Codec support varies by browser. Downloads are always WAV, at 48 kHz, with the original mono or stereo channel count.
Are my recordings uploaded or stored?
No. Your recording is decoded and processed on your device. QuietTake does not upload or store audio, require a login, or record your session. The host receives page and asset requests, and anonymous page-view statistics. Your audio and file name are not sent with these statistics.
What kind of noise can it reduce?
The speech-focused model can reduce background hiss, fans, air-conditioning and other noise in voice recordings. Results depend on the recording. Heavy wind, clipping, room echo and overlapping voices may remain. It is not a music or vocal separation tool.
Can I use it for video?
This version processes audio files and exports audio only. It does not preserve or export a video track. Export the audio from your video editor, clean it here, then replace the audio in your editor.
Which cleanup strength should I choose?
Start with Balanced. Choose Gentle if your voice sounds thin or you want to keep more room sound. Choose Strong for more suppression, then compare the result before downloading. More suppression can also change the voice.
